Christmas is coming!

Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I've been thinking about decorating for Christmas.  I'm planning my attack.  The day after Thanksgiving I'll get out my many boxes of decorations, turn on the holiday music, and begin drenching everything in red and green.  I love Christmas!  And luckily I got to start just a little early with some Christmas Pretzels that were ordered as a snack for a soccer team this week.
1/6/12 Soccer team update.  Quote from happy customer:  "....the girls loved the pretzels; they were a huge hit and everyone was impressed."  (L. in Avondale, AZ)

Red Velvet made for Royalty

Today's cake pops and cake will be made for a Birthday Princess turning 6.  Red Velvet cake pops with Cream Cheese icing is the filling for the cake pops.  The cake will be Red Velvet with Buttercream icing, yummm.  Will add pictures of the finished products later on.
Fun Wikipedia note on Red Velvet:  A resurgence in the popularity of this cake is partly attributed to the 1989 film Steel Magnolias in which the groom's cake (a southern tradition) is a red velvet cake made in the shape of an armadillo.
A Princess accessory that's completely edible.

Mmmmmm, Peanut Butter and Chocolate

Yesterday's batch was peanut butter filled.  Yummy, but I found that it needs more peanut butter and a double coating of chocolate.  Nothing bad about that!  Update--the cake pops that were mailed arrived in great condition.

The mummy is the first of my Halloween pops.  I will make the gumball machines just a little bit smaller next time, the ball might be too big for the candy base.  I love the roses, the magic wand, and the pink fancy one with sparkling sugar crystals.

Mr. Mailman

Attempt #1 to mail cake pops probably should not have been done when it's 110 degrees in Arizona.  But I can't wait!  And it's my little brother's birthday.  So I'll wait to hear how they arrived.  Even if they arrive a squishy mess, they're still a squishy mess of awesomeness!  So my instructions to him are to put them in the fridge and eat them anyway.  I sent him a "before" picture just in case.

Mr. Mailman told me that if I could drop them on the floor over and over again, and they don't break---I've done my job.  He thinks I'm just asking for trouble.

Start up your ovens!

I've decided to share my "Sweet Tooth".

I started this blog to display my newest kitchen creations.  It will take some time, but eventually I hope to have a nice collection to showcase.  For those of you who know me well, know that I love to cook, bake, make candy, and everything else in between.  My mother taught me that.  I've been making candy and treats for family, friends and neighbors for years and now I'm offering them to you!
